The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) needs balanced transformation, Kyrgyzstan President Almazbek Atambayev said as he met with the heads of government of the CIS member states on 7 June, BelTA has learned.
“Kyrgyzstan supported the proposal to transform the organization and reform specialized agencies of the CIS. But I would like to emphasize that we are in favor of a balanced approach to transformations, there should not be any exaggerations, everything should be well considered and calculated,” Almazbek Atambayev said.
He expressed hope that various discussions will help find solutions satisfying all countries. “I think that the today’s session is one of the discussion platforms where we will find a compromise,” Almazbek Atambayev said. He wished the heads of government productive work.
The session of the heads of government of the CIS member states will take place in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) on 7 June. The agenda includes more than ten topical cooperation issues. The development of trade and economic cooperation, joint work in the energy sector and healthcare, production security and the program of innovative interaction will be in the spotlight.
