A delegation of the Belarusian army led by Defense Minister, Lieutenant-General Andrei Ravkov will be in Armenia on a visit till 19 August, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Defense Ministry website.
On 16 August the Belarusian Defense Minister will take part in a regular session of the Defense Ministers Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
Andrei Ravkov will outline Belarus’ stance on eleven items on the agenda of the session. Among other things measures to improve the operation of the CSTO Untied Staff and the document approval process will be mentioned.
Andrei Ravkov will also talk about the plan for consultations on foreign policy, security, and defense of representatives of the CSTO member states for H2 2016 – H1 2017. The decisions participants of the session will make will contribute to the development of common approaches and mechanisms to develop the military component of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
During the official visit, on 17-19 August, Andrei Ravkov will also meet with the defense minister of Armenia and the secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia. The sides will discuss the state of military cooperation and will outline areas for future interaction.
