CSTO Emergencies Coordination Council to sit in Yerevan 29 September

The Emergencies Coordination Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will hold a meeting in Yerevan on 29 September, BelTA learnt from CSTO spokesman Vladimir Zainetdinov.

Participants of the meeting will consider the draft decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council on emergency response. The agenda will also include issues related to the expansion of cooperation with international organizations with a view to using their potential in providing assistance to regions in emergency and implementing the action plan of CSTO emergency response system.

Participants of the meeting will also discuss progress made in the implementation of the agreement on training specialists for the law-enforcement, fire-fighting, and rescue services of the CSTO member states that receive education in the higher educational establishments of the Emergencies Ministry of Belarus, and the development of the Russian-Armenian Humanitarian Response Center in Armenia.

The meeting will also consider the issue of the chairmanship in the CSTO Emergencies Coordination Council for next year and exercise plan and other joint events envisaged for enhancing cooperation between the CSTO authorized agencies in 2017.
