The Foreign Ministry of Belarus welcomes the steps taken between Russia and Ukraine on the way to the implementation of the Minsk agreements. The sides have exchanged military personnel.
Thus, one of the issues that was an obstacle to progress towards a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine is now off the agenda. The Foreign Ministry expresses hope that the event will be positive for the whole negotiation process.
Dmitry Mironchik, foreign ministry spokesperson:
We hope that this event will have a positive impact on the entire negotiation process. The Belarusian side will contribute to the future work of Tripartite Contact Group and working sub-groups, will provide all the necessary conditions for the continuation of the Minsk process so that peace returns to our world as soon as possible.
