In light of recent events in Ukraine Belarus seeks to ensure the greatest possible independence in the development and production processes of final versions of weapons and military equipment.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko drew attention to the fact that the country’s military-industrial complex must create a full technological cycle of production of advanced weapons. He said if Belarus is able to develop and produce such weapons it will automatically break the dependence on other states.
According to Naviny.by, a delegation of the military-industrial complex of the Republic of Belarus (22 specialists) plans to visit military enterprises in Kiev, Lvov, Dnepropetrovsk, Chernigov at the end of September. The delegation is interested in plants, bureaus and research institutes associated with the production of missiles or their components (homing systems, rocket motors, control systems).
The main goal of the Belarusian delegation’s visit is to learn from the experience and make acquainted primarily with the technology of production of anti-aircraft guided missiles and cruise missiles and their components, as well as the operational-tactical missile systems.
Ukrainian sources do not doubt that Belarusians will entice Ukrainian specialists to establish the appropriate facilities at home because these types of high-precision weapons are in great demand on the world market. The article said that most likely, there will be no problem with highly qualified staff. In Ukraine there are many specialists who will agree to get decent wage in Belarus because of uncertainty at home. It seems visitors from Belarus count on it.
