«A meeting of the Committee of Chiefs of Staff of the armed forces of the CIS member states will be held today in Minsk under the chairmanship of the Chief of General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, First Deputy Defense Minister of Russia, the general of the army Valery Gerasimov,» the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The meeting of the committee will be attended by delegations from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. It is expected that in the course of his working trip to Minsk the head of the Russian General Staff will hold bilateral meetings with colleagues from Tajikistan and Belarus to discuss military and military-technical cooperation between the states.
