More unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and gyrocopters will be employed to protect the Belarusian state border, BelTA learned from the ONT TV channel.
The operation of the air and land border control system has been demonstrated to the military attaches, who are accredited in Belarus. A presentation of the available solutions, including Belarus-made products, took place at the border guard station Svaryn, Drogichin District.
The Shershen drone can operate in any weather conditions and in hard-to-reach areas. The device can be carried by one person in a backpack and can feed video to a small monitor.
Apart from that, gyrocopters are employed to protect the state border on a daily basis. A gyrocopter looks like a compact helicopter and can seat two persons. However, there is more than meets the eye.
Military attaches from eight countries, including Venezuela and China, came to take a look at the equipment used by the Belarusian border service. As a rule, such meetings result in major joint projects. One such project is being implemented together with Poland for the sake of improving the security of the Belarusian-Polish border.
